OSF Registries, operated by the Center for Open Science, is one of the most widely used registries for preregistrations in the social sciences. Researchers can document their study design in advance, select a structured template, and generate a time-stamped, immutable version of their research plan. This tutorial explains how this works.

Registrations can be made public immediately or embargoed for a set period. Research plans can be linked to data, materials, code, and papers hosted on an external repository such as Zenodo. This creates a traceable, coherent documentation of the entire research process.
