GitLab offers source code management and hosting similar to Github, which is particularly suitable for Open Source projects. It is based on the distributed versioning system Git. With functions such as issue tracking, Kanban board, Wiki and Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD), it offers comprehensive software lifecycle management functions. The Community Edition is Open Source and allows the hosting of an own GitLab instance.
