STAPLE (Science Tracking Across the Project LifEspan) is a web-based project management tool for research projects. It supports researchers in structuring projects across the entire research lifecycle and in centrally documenting data, code, materials, and related metadata.

After creating a free account, users can set up research projects and manage their components (for instance datasets, analyses, project phases, contributors). STAPLE places a strong emphasis on structured metadata collection, thereby supporting transparency and the implementation of FAIR and Open Science principles.
