The World Bank README Generator is a browser-based editor that guides researchers step by step through creating a README file for their replication package. The tool structures documentation according to World Bank reproducibility standards: users fill in predefined sections (including a data availability statement, instructions to replicators, software requirements, and folder structure) and receive a complete, formatted README as a Word document. The tool draws on best practices developed by the Social Science Data Editors (SSDE) and is therefore not only relevant for researchers publishing with the World Bank.
