Bookdown is an open-source R package that allows writing books, long articles and reports using R Markdown. It supports a variety of programming languages, as well as graphics and interactive applications. The user’s own content can be exported as PDF, LaTeX, HTML and Word, among other formats. For the creation of open teaching materials, especially textbooks, it is a good idea to use it if you are familiar with R and Markdown.
