Data Stewardship Wizard
The Data Stewardship Wizard (DSW) is an international open-source platform for the collaborative creation of data management plans (DMPs) in line with the FAIR principles. Researchers applying for funding are often required to submit a DMP outlining how research data will be collected, stored, shared, and preserved. DSW guides users step by step through this process: instead of drafting a plan from scratch, researchers answer structured questions that automatically generate a complete document. The tool is recommended in the Horizon Europe Programme Guide.
DSW supports versioned, "living" DMPs that can be updated throughout a project, which is especially relevant for empirical projects involving extensive or sensitive data. Universities and research institutions can adapt the platform to their own requirements and provide it institutionally. It is available both as a cloud-based service and as a locally hosted solution.
