Self-Publishing in Open Access
Open Access is the immediate, free and permanent availability and visibility of research publications on the internet. There are several ways open to you to disseminate your work in Open Access, ranging from free of charge to chargeable. The different options include:
- self-archiving, for example in institutional or subject-specific Open Access repositories or on your personal website,
- publish as journal articles in an Open Access journal or in a hybrid journal,
- publish as an Open Access book.
To give your research work more visibility, you could create an ORCID iD account, which brings together your entire research work and thereby makes it visible.
A tutorial video “Planning the publication process” from the Economics & Management Library of the TU Berlin explains how the publication process works.
