Using Open Code in Practice
In principle, Open Code can be used in your own research in two ways: Firstly, by actively using Open Code from others, and secondly, by producing Open Code yourself.
Possibilities to use Open Code from third parties are:
- to reuse the Open Code of others for your own research.
- to learn from the Open Code of others,
- reproducing the research results of others thanks to Open Code.
Producing Open Code yourself can look like this in practice:
- to use open programming languages yourself,
- to produce code together with others,
- seeing code as part of making your own research reproducible
