But when AI models, infrastructures and tools themselves are closed systems, they fail to conform to good research practices and principles of Open Science such as trans­parency, accountability and reproducibility. This talk gives an overview of what openness can mean in the context of AI and the benefits and possibilities of open AI infrastructures for research practices.
